Welcome to the Official Page of the Egyptian composer Ramz Sabry Samy.
Ramz has composed in almost all genres of music; his works are mostly orchestral, chamber, vocal, and piano that have been performed in Egypt, USA, Italy, Sweden, England, Switzerland, Russia and elsewhere.
He studied composition and harmony with Aziz El-Shawan and counterpoint and harmony with Kamel El-Remali. He also studied interior design at Helwan University and earned his BFA. He later studied analysis with Riko Futin and Nils Vigeland and composition with David Noon at the Manhattan School of Music on a Fulbright Scholarship.
Among his honors are the State Art Prize of Egypt for residency in Italy, and the First Prize for Composition from the Highest Council of Culture in Egypt (2005, for Movements and Moments in the Rast Mode). He was also four-time recipient of the Award for Artistic Production from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
